Movies play an important role in my life and of course I like to go to the cinema. As for me it is an available popular form of art, I find visiting cinemas is one of the best ways of spending my free time. And everyone can choose his favorite genre of film. There are such genres of feature films like a thriller, a musical, a drama and a comedy. To my mind movies extend our knowledge about people, about the world we live. Everyone knows that we live in a very difficult time nowadays. But sometimes we do need something amusing, pleasant and funny. That’s why I prefer comedies. And there is no doubt that a good film gives us an excellent entertainment.
Watching a good film with children helps us in upbringing. I think taste can be formed through the movies because there are a lot of films about nature, animals, and kind people. And I like serious films where serious problems of our life are raised up.
Children mesmerized for hours before a television set watching cartoons seeing for the fifth time because it is interesting. And I enjoy seeing cartoons too.
Among different types of films (that is comedy, romantic drama, western, adventure film, police drama or detective film, psychological thriller, horror film, historical film) best of all I like comedy and romantic drama, because such films are very cheerful and full of life. I don't like horror films and I find them quite disgusting.
Sometimes I may watch a police drama or a historical film, but I'm not very keen on these types of films. Now let me tell you about one of my favourite films “Titanic”. It tells the story of a famous ship, the “Titanic”, which sank in 1912. The “Titanic” was a colossal ship even by modern standards. Its tragic sinking will always be remembered, for the ship went down on the first voyage with heavy losses.
The director of the film is James Cameron. The main parts in the film are played by young actors Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet. To my mind their acting is superb. The camerawork is fantastic, too. I’ve heard that they made a full-size model of the “Titanic” for this film.
It’s a very spectacular film. It is also a moving love-story. I advise all my friends to see “Titanic”. The film was awarded 11 Oscars and I’m sure it deserves every one of them.
My favourite actor is Jackie Chan. I like Jackie Chan because he has the kindest heart. So many people around him have full respect of him, especially the people of Hong Kong. He needs no bodyguard because people just love him so much and they have so much respect. He is a worldwide superstar and has opened the hearts of many viewers and fans. When I watch Jackie Chan movies with my granddad we laugh and have great fun and I really enjoy that. His movies are great; he is great and is a great influence on children. Jackie Chan was put on this earth to entertain people and he did that job well and not only that but he has helped many other people across the world. Jackie Chan's Childhood was not very pleasant because his family was very poor. Jackie
Chan's real name was Kwong-Sang Chan, and he was born in Hong Kong on April 7, 1954. His
Chinese name Kwong-Sang means "born in Hong Kong."
Theatre is a place where you can see a play staged. It is also one of entertainments. For many centuries theatre has been one of the favourite arts that attracted so many people. A theatre consists of two parts: the stage and the hall. They are separated by a curtain and the orchestra. Actors and actresses perform on the stage and public occupies the hall, the pit, the dress-circles, the boxes and the gallery. If we made up our mind to go to the theatre we should go to the box-office to buy tickets. So the first theatre that I visited was Zhambyl drama theatre. The first performance was desire under the elms. The Russian translation of play is «любовь под вязами». Desire Under the Elms is a play by Eugene O'Neill, published in 1924, and is now considered an American classic.
