Have you ever heard that all knowledge is good as long as you are absorbing something? That it is very important to absorb new things. It does not matter what or how much because all this will be added to the knowledge bank. I have heard this my whole life that you need to always be looking to learn new things. It never mattered how much you learned just as long as you were leaning something new.
Well first of all, I am here to tell you that this is not true. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, and can make you do stupid and dangerous things that may very well get you into heap of trouble.
In any topic there is an enormous amount of information, and sometimes when you do not have all the pieces of the puzzle you can make poor judgments and choices that will put you in a bad situation. Lets take law for an instance, if you practice law without knowing all the laws and all the facts you can wind up getting you and your client in trouble. Or Medicine, would you want a surgeon to work on your heart if they only knew about your stomach? I would rather have a heart surgeon working on my heart! That is because a heart surgeon specializes on the heart and knows all the inns and outs and what to do in case something goes wrong. This is true for any areas in life especially personal development and handling your money and business opportunities.
When you learn a little about a topic we are often missing pieces of the puzzle and if we try to act on this knowledge and make decisions based on what we know, we may find that our choices with out limited knowledge lead us to making poor choices and poor judgments and that can get us in trouble.
When you embark on any journey to learn about a topic. It is important to get focused and learn as much as you can. It can take time to learn, but it is important to have that determined focus, and desire to seek out and find the answers.
There is a reason why rich people surround themselves with the best financial advisors and lawyers that money can buy. It is because they know that these specialists know all the laws and the inns and outs of the fields they work in and can best advise them on the best choices to make. Successful people surround themselves with experts and the best in their fields and that is because collectively a group of specialists in many different fields can make more informed decisions that will lead to success.
Success comes from being focused in what you want to be successful in and learning everything you can on that topic. But more importantly than that, you need to find the best in that field and surround yourself from them, and learn from them.
Make sure you are learning all you can on your focused field, and make sure you are learning from the right people.
Knowledge is an important fundamental of being successful, but a little knowledge can make you dangerous!
