Card № 4

1. Let’s talk about friendship. How important is friendship for you?

2. Can you rely on your best friend? Why (not)

3. What questions do you usually ask when you want to get acquainted with someone?

4. What can you advise a teenager who has no friends?

5. Nowadays teenagers have got up to 300 friends in Contact. What do you think about it?

1.

I’m sure that friendship is one of the most fascinating things in the world. It’s a great gift. They are rich who have true friends. Friendship makes our life full of joy and pleasure. There are no rules of how to make friends. Usually friendship between people grows when they have common views and judgments on things and events, common interests and ambitions. Sometimes friends fall out because of misunderstanding, selfishness and irresponsibility. But I believe that real friends should respect and take care of each other, value their friendship.

2.

As for me I have a lot of acquaintances but my real friend is Olga. We’ve become close friends since the seventh form. We get on well and I can rely on her in everything. I can share my experiences with her and she helps me to sort them out. I think Olga is easy to deal with. We have much in common; we enjoy doing many things together. We are crazy about surfing the Internet, we are interested in rock music. We often hang out, go to the cinema (theatre), travel etc.

3.

What’s your name?

How old are you?

What are interested in?

How do you spend your spare time?

What is you hobby? What do you like doing?

What are your likes and dislikes?

Do you do any sport?

Are you a sociable person?

4.

If you don’t have friends you should analyze your personality, your behavior, your way of life. To be alone is awful, I think. Try to meet people who share your interests, have the same hobby or sport you do. I advise to visit different public places, join different clubs and circles, spend more time interacting and socializing with your schoolmates or classmates. Take part in different school activities and sport competitions.

5.

I have mentioned that there is a difference between acquaintances and friends. I’m sure if you have 300 friends in Contact it means you have 300 acquaintances. Acquaintances are good for entertaining and communicating only, but when you have serious problems, unfortunately, they never help you to solve them, and they disappear at once.
