Card № 6

1. Let’s talk about education. What can you tell me about your school?

2. Do you agree that our school gives a person a good start in life? Why (not)?

Ask me whether I liked school when I was a pupil.

4. You are talking with a British student. What would you advise him/her to do to prepare for an exam well?

5. Today some young people think that having a good education is not very important. Do you agree with them?

1.

No doubt that school is our second home. We spend a lot of time at school getting education; it plays an important role in our life. Our character and perception of the world are formed here. I study at a secondary school in Kolodischi. Our school was built 30 years ago. Our school has 3 floors. On the ground floor there is gym, a canteen, workshops and some classrooms. On the second floor there is a library, teacher’s room, physics and mathematic classrooms, computer classes and an Assembly hall. There are well-equipped chemistry and biology labs on the third floor. We go to school five days a week. Our classes start at 8 o’clock a.m. and last till 2 o’clock p.m. So we have five or six lessons a day.

2.

I think that the most important role of school is giving knowledge. It gives a person a good start in his (her) future professional life. School is not only a place of education; it is a place where we develop our relationships while taking part in different school activities. We learn to solve different problems, overcome difficulties, and achieve our goals. Of course, we try our best to do it.

3.

When did you finish your school?

Did you do well at school?

What was your favourite subject at school?

What marks did you get in Maths?

When did your lessons start and finish?

What after classes activities did you use to take part in?

What facilities were offered for pupils at that time?

4.

If he (she) wants to pass his (her) exam successfully he (she) should stop being nervous. He (she) should find a quiet place for revision. While reading and learning I advise him (her) to take breaks and make notes. It is very important before the exam to rise fresh, so he (she) should sleep for at least 7 hours. And do not lazy, do your best and be responsible.

5.

I disagree with them. I strongly believe that without a good education you can’t get a good job and live happy life. It’s necessary to develop and improve our knowledge to be called “homo sapience”, to be a personality. When you are well-educated, experienced, and professional in your job many people around want to communicate and deal with you.
