Examples of Thesis Statements:
The students in my class can be classified according to their level of

are below average.
People can be classified according to the shape of chin they have: those who

chin and those who have a small chin.

When stating your categories in the thesis, remember to use parallel structure, or words of the same grammatical form, in the series.
