DevGrid is written from the ground up to work with XML. Data is supplied to DevGrid as XML and retrieved from DevGrid as XML. Most other older grids on the market need wrapper functionality to translate to and from XML to set or retrieve data in the grid. DevGrid thrives on well formed XML, the EDI of e-commerce.

DevGrid is developed for the web to function as a part and parcel of a web page. It is therefore assembled from the same technologies that the browser provides. XML schemas, what a concept!. DevGrid layout and look and feel is all configured via XML schemas. Like the data the schema can be stored on the server and supplied to the client at runtime.
