What do you do on weekends? How do you usually spend your weekends?

I would like to spend my leisure time with my family and my friends. On weekends I go to the skating rink or swimming pool. I adore parties where I can communicate with new people and talk about the news. Sometimes I just have a rest at home reading or watching TV. It depends on my mood.

1. What are you interested in? What are you fond of? Do you like traveling?

I’m interested in music and literature. I like to listen to a classical music and pop music. I prefer reading foreign and Russian writers. I/m interested in the books about life, love in general. So I’ve read Ernst Hemingway, his famous book “The fare well to arm”! This book is about war and love, about 2 people and their yearning to live happily among the war.

I’m fond of sport: running, swimming and volleyball. Sport helps people to fit, to bit stress and negative emotions. I always try to be in a good mood!

I prefer cinema to video as you sit together with other spectators and your emotions and fillings are twice stronger with all these people around you.

And one more thing, I’m fond of traveling very much. It’s so interesting to meet different people, to try different food, to listen to different musical rhythms. I think that the best way to study geography is to travel and the best way to get to know and understand people is to meet them in their own homes. I like traveling by car and by plane. It’s so interesting to look out of the window and observe the most picturesque places I’ve never seen before. Traveling by plane is the fastest way of traveling and most convenient.

1. What kind of weather do you like? What does the weather like today?

Today is a fine day. The sky is high, blue and cloudless but there is slush and mud on the roads. It’s but natural, it’s spring. The nature awakens from a long winter sleep. Many people complain they feel sleepy in spring, as for me, I’m full of life and joy. I always try to be in a good mood!

I like winter and summer. In winter we celebrate two of the most favourite Holidays: Christmas and New Year. We can skiing, skating and have a lot of fun. Summer is the season of vacations. I can go by the sea or in the mountains, I can bath or laze in the sun, I can go to the woods to gather mushrooms and berries. It’s great!

1. What type of car do you like? Can you drive the car? Have you got any driver license? How long have you been driven the car?

I like Mercedes. I can drive the car. I have been driven the car for 3 years and, of course, I have got my driver license.

1. Would you like to drive the car in the US?

Why not, I’d like to try to.

1. If you’ve got a chance do you want to stay in the US?

Never, I must continue my studying in Almaty! It’s very important for me.

1. Have you got any relatives abroad?

I don’t think so. I live in Kazakhstan and all my relatives are here.

1. Have you ever been foreign countries before? Have you ever been abroad?

No, it’s my first trip in the United States. I’ve heard a lot about this beautiful country and I like to see it with my own eyes.

Or yes, I was in Turkey. It was a tourist trip. But, anyway, America is a great country! I really want to see it with my own eyes.

1. Who sponsors you trip?

In Kazakhstan, my mother (my father) is my sponsor. He is a businessman. He works in a Trade Company.

“КСЕТ” is my Kazakh Company sponsor. American Work Adventures is my American sponsor. They help us to make DS 2019 and to find a job for us.

1. What is your mother? What is your father? What are you?

My mother is an Economist. My father is a businessman. I’m a student.

1. Your main purposes of visit? Why do you want to take part in such a program?

First, I’d like to meet different people, to communicate with foreigners, to improve my English, to find new friends. And I adore traveling! I study at the Kazakh State University. I’m a third year student of a day department of the faculty of Law and Finances. So, my major subjects are: Finances, Marketing, Management, Law and English, of course. I’ve been studying English for 8 years: 6 years at school and 2 years at the University.

My major (specialty) is Economics. I’m a future Economist.

I’m a second year student.

1. When do classes start at your University?

My classes begin at 8 o’clock in the morning.

1. How many lessons do you have a day?

I have 4 or 5 lessons a day. I study from Monday till Friday.

1. Who teaches your English?

Smirnova is our English teacher.

1. Have you already passed your exams and credits?

Yes, I have passed all my winter exams and I’m going to pass my summer exams BEFOREHAND in April. I have 4 exams and 10 credits. And I’ll try and do my best!

I entered the University in 2010.

I will finish my University in 2014.

1. When will you obtain your Diploma?

I will get my Diploma in 2014.

1. What are you going to do after graduating from the University?

I’m going to work as an Economist in one’s Company.

1. What are you going to do after ending the program?

I’m going to come back to Kazakhstan to continue my education. It’s very important for me!

I’m taking part in the program “Work and Travel”. It’s the program of Cultural Interchange!

In general I’m a good student. I have got good and excellent marks.

I’ll have 4 exams and 8 credits: Marketing, Management, Economics and Finances.

I’ve taken some at my University two times a week.

My first name is GULDANA. My last name is IBRAYEVA. I came from Almaty, Kazakhstan.

1. When were you born? Where were you born?

I was born on the 5^th of July in 1988 in Almaty.

1. Where do you live?

I live in Almaty and study there. Almaty is my native city. There are a lot of museums, galleries, libraries there. It’s a large scientific and cultural center. It’s the city where a lot of Universities and Academies are situated. I love my city.

1. How many members are in you family? Is it large or small?

My family is not large. There are 4 persons in my family: my mother, my father, my younger sister and me.

1. What do your parents think about your trip? What is your parents’ attitude to your trip?

Of course, they are worry about me. It’s my first trip so far but, in spite of that, they are proud of me! It’s a great chance to see the world!

1. Do you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend? Is she (he) going together with you?

He (she) stays in Almaty. And she is proud of me. I can see the world!

1. What was the last movie you’ve seen? What was the last book you’ve read?

My last movie was “Pretty woman” with Richard Gir and Julia Roberts. It’s a beautiful movie about love. My last book was “The fare well to arm” by Ernst Hemingway. This book is about war and love, about 2 people and their yearning to live happily among the war.

1. Do you like watching TV? What was the latest news about the United States?

I like watching TV. I like to watch the news and some documentary films on weekends. Sorry to say, I haven’t enough time to do it as I’m always busy with my studying.

1. What position would you like to occupy abroad? Where are you going to work? What state are you going to work?

I will work as a Housekeeper. I’m going to Alaska to work in the Hotel “Totem Inn”. My main duties (obligations) will be to clean 14 guest rooms, to dust the furniture, to sweep the floor, to follow all the rules of the Hotel.

I will work as a sales associate (waiter). So I will communicate with guests. I will serve the clients, take the orders, clean my work place.

I’m going to Alaska as there are a lot of mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls there. It’s a very beautiful place to see! I’ve heard a lot about this sate from my friends.

I’m going to Florida as I like its climate: it’s hot and humid. It’s a wonderful place to see. I’ve never been to ocean before! I’ve heard a lot about this state from my friends!!!
