Exercise 1. Use the verbs in brackets in the Present Continuous or the Present Perfect Continuous:
1. What you (look) at? - I (look) at that picture over there. I (look) at it for about half an hour and I still can’t understand what it is. 2. What Mary (do)? - She (practise) the piano. Exercise 2. Put the verbs into the correct form: present simple, present continuous or present perfect continuous:
1. He (be) quite sociable. He (make) friends easily. 2. Your hair is wet. I think you (swim). 3. I (wait) for the bus for over two hours. 4. I (teach) literature at the university. But I (spend) a month in England because I (write) a book on Byron, so I (do) some research. 12. I (work) for this company since 1985. 13. I always (book) tickets well in advance. 14. I (not to want) to go for a walk now. It (rain). 15. She usually (pay) in dollars, but today she (pay) in Deutschmarks. 16. They (paint) a new crossing on the road all morning. 17. What Alan (do)? - He (be) an accountant. He (work) in an office in town. 18. What (happen) outside, there’s a lot of noise? - The people opposite (have) a party. 19. Nick (look) tired. He (drive) all through the night. 20. Doctor Michos (wear) very good clothes. - Yes, she always (look) smart. She (wear) a lovely dress this evening. - Yes, she (have) very good taste in clothes.
