Lyotard and contemporary art - the question of the sublime
Цель: as a conclusion to the course to pursue the theme of the development of contemporary aesthetics.
Содержание: Where is contemporary art heading? Should we as spectators respond following the Kantian model of sublime: first shock and then wonder at being taken to see the deeper paradoxes of existence. Or is art just a form of manipulation by the artist: we must either reject the painting or see the world his/her way. And if art constitutes a supplement to philosophical discourse what do the directions of modern art suggest about the future of philosophy?
Форма проведения: групповая презентация – in groups of three, students to present a contemporary work of art and discuss how the questions it raises.
