Если порядковые числительные пишутся цифрами, к ним прибавляются две последние буквы слова:
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 45th (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 45th)
Дробные числительные (Fractional numbers)
Простые дроби (Common fractions)
• В простых дробях числитель выражается количественным числительным, а знаменатель - порядковым: 1/5 – one fifth, 3/5 – three fifths (если числитель больше единицы, то знаменатель получает окончание множественного числа -s). 1/2 – one half, 1/4 – one quarter.
• Существительное следующее за дробью, стоит в единственном числе, а за смешанным числом – во множественном: 3/7 metre – three sevenths of a metre, 2 1/4 metres – two and a quarter metres (two metres and a quarter)
Десятичные дроби (Decimal fractions)
• В десятичных дробях целое число отделяется от дроби точкой (point). Цифра 0 читается как o [əu] или nought [nɔ:t]. при чтении десятичных дробей перед словом point делают небольшую паузу.
0.5 –point five, 0.005 – point nought nought five (point o o five), 1.02 – one point nought two
0.1 – point one, 2.35 – two point tree five, 32.456 – three two (или thirty two) point four five six
