People all over the world are very fond of sports and games. That is one thing in which people of every nationality and class are united. There are many new and extreme kinds of sport nowadays like swamp football, hockern, headis and so on.

Swamp football (sometimes called Swamp soccer) is a form of association football that is played in bogs or swamps. The World Championship in swamp football is played annually on Vuorisuo bog in Hyrynsalmi, Finland, the first taking place in 2000. At the swamp football world championship games of 2005, some 5,000 players participated. The European Championship in swamp football is held in the town of Newton Aycliffe. Rules: The standard football rules have been modified significantly to suit the demanding sport: The game is played in two halves of 13 minutes; Boots can not be changed during the game; Corner kicks, penalties and throw-ins are made with punts; There is no off-side rule; The penalty area is 5 meters deep but the goalkeeper is only allowed to hold the ball in a three metre radius from the goal; There are 6 players on the field, with maximum of 12 in the squad; The players can be substituted as often as they want; For the major tournaments the pitch is simply a dry muddy field which is covered in water, rather than a naturally occurring swamp. The dimensions of the pitch are roughly 60m long and 35 metres wide. Hockern is a game from Germany that can be classified under bizarre sports. Bizarre, because it involves a lot of things at once – sitting, dancing, spinning, and it’s hard to tell what it is exactly. A typical Hockern player would do something like this: sit on a specially designed stool called the Sporthocker, twirl it in the air, do a handstand, and then swiftly sit on it once again. The game was introduced three years ago by a couple of young German entrepreneurs who head the company Salzig Sporthocker. Of course, there are rules to this seemingly haphazard sport. No move is actually considered a move, unless it ends with the player sitting down on the stool. So basically, its a lot of gymnastics at the end of which the gymnast sits down. Some of the common moves from players include spinning the stool on the floor and then balancing on it, tossing it in the air and quickly sitting on it where ever it lands, or simply having a friend slide the stool over to you across the floor and sitting on it as soon as it reaches you.

HEADIS (header table tennis) is a hybrid of soccer and table tennis. The regular table tennis table is used, but you are just allow the 7" inch rubber ball with your head. The tactics of tennis and table tennis are involved as well as the soccer element the header. In February 2010 HEADIS got awarded as one of the finalists of the world's largest start-up competition in the sporting goods industry, the ISPO brandnew Award from Munich. The two most important things in HEADIS are the head and a table tennis table. The rules are similar to the table tennis ones with a few exceptions. The HEADIS ball is 7" inches, weights about 100 gr. Is made out of rubber and has special bouncing qualities. Volleys are allowed as well as touching the table. A game is up to 11 points and 2 sets. You have to be 2 points ahead of your opponent to win the set.
