In spite of the all contradictions that met by women on their way to success, there are those, who overcame obstacles and achieved their position in power. They have the necessary strengths, strong personality, persistence and many other qualities, that are given them from nature or bred by themselves, which are needed to win in the cruel world of business. Their achieved feel of independence covers all material and moral needs. The most significant point is that the feeling of importance and power in our male-dominant world is crucial for them.

According to the annual snapshot made by Forbes «The World’s Most Powerful Women 2013» they have picked up women who transform our world in new and inspiring ways, changing the idea of power and influence in the modern society. This list includes 9 heads of states, 24 CEOs, who control $893 billion in annual revenues and 16 company founders. In the modern world women gained their power in different spheres. From the 20 most powerful women, there are those, who succeeded in Politics, Philantrope, Technology, Business, Media and Metals & Mining.

The most powerful (#1) woman in politics is Angela Merkel, 59 year-old chancellor in Germany since 2005. She is the foundation of the 27-member European Union and holds the weigh of European future.

Another powerful (#3) woman in Philantrope/NGO is 49 year-old Melinda Gates from United states, corchair in Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Talking about technology we should mention Sheryl Sandberg, who is #6 in the list (44 year-old, United Sates), the COO in Facebook.

In business sphere as the most powerful woman (#10) is considered Indra Nooyi from United States, 58 year-old PepsiCo CEO.

There several influential women in media sphere, one of them is Oprah Winfrey (59 year-old) from United States, who is entrepreneur and works on television.

There are some women who work in Metals and Mining, the most successful one is Georgina Rinehart, 59 year-old Executive Chairman in Hancock Prospecting.

All of those women achieved their powerful positions and became the great leaders. Because through the entire life they were developing leadership qualities and knew that they deserve success as well as men do.

 

 

4. Conclusion.

Fist of all, every leader should has set of qualities necessary to become a successful executive; some of these qualities are characterized as inborn other could be developed through the entire life. Leader makes a huge contribution to the work of organization: he organizes work environment, controls the process of production and participates in conflict resolution. However, the most important thing that distinguishes great leader from the ordinary manager is his ability to think not about himself, but about the benefit of the whole company. That significant and rare trait lets him or her make good organization the best one. Modern society still have some biases about gender differences that affect people’s opinion. There are just different value that women and men emphasize. The thought that men are better leaders that women exists, nevertheless, the survey made on gender differences contradicts widespread bias. Women have all the necessary qualities for effective leadership. They fight against glass ceiling and other challenges. Some women win and achieve desired success on the leading position. Women deserve to be leaders and the barriers can be overcame in the future.
