The purpose of class is to learn a method of selection and justification of initial data for development (upgrading) of maintenance depot of special vehicles service.

Brief theoretical data.

The production designing of maintenance depot of special vehicle service is the process, that includes:

- selection and justification of initial data forcalculation of the production program;

- calculation of the program, production capacities and quantity of maintenance staff;

- selection and justification of organization method of maintenance of in-line repair (M and R) of special vehicles;

- calculation of number of sites (lines) for maintenance and in-line repair sites;

- estimation of necessity in the technological equipment and calculation of powered equipment supply level of production processes;

- calculation of production areas, ware-house and auxiliary compartments of maintenance depot;

- selection, justification and development by volumetric - layout solutions of areas, sites and whole enterprises;

- development of general layout;

- technical and economic assessment of technological design solution developed.

Designing of the maintenance depot is grounded on the design solutions of maintenance depot according to the technology and arrangement of the maintenance and repair process, developed in result of production designing of special vehicle service.

Any type of maintenance depot construction is defined as:

- new construction is creation of enterprise on the new ground area according to the at first properly approved project;

- extension of operating enterprise is construction of a new one and extension of existing or construction of the building for maintenance and repair special vehicles, open or enclosed parking area for their storage, and also outbuilding of annex compartment to the existent building structure;

- maintenance depot reconstruction is building or re-equipment (instead of obsolete) production building, open or enclosed parking area, houses and buildings for maintenance and repair, security check-point, diagnosing site, preheating device of special vehicles on the open parking area;

- a technical rearmament is supply of new types of technological equipment without extension of production areas, introduction of diagnostic equipment of new technological processes etc. (some actions on environmental protection, improvement of auxiliary services activity, engineering networks and ware-house activity, computers hardware supply are relevant to it).

The main conditions of the high-quality designing of maintenance depot are:

- the proper justification of power assignment and location special vehicle service;

- arrangement of application of special vehicles according to the prominent approaches;

- centralization maintenance and repair of special vehicles;

- area selection taking into account the external networks;

- compatibility of layout solutions of building with application of the most economic assembling structures, typical components of the industrial manufacturing and modern construction materials;

- wide application of typical, economic, individual projects;

- wide use of domestic and foreign experience.

The level of maintenance and repair of the special vehicles is estimated by production designing and is a basis for development of other parts of whole project. The production designing must be justified on the modern technology and arrangement of maintenance and repair, maximal powered equipment supply of production processes, efficient application of production areas, advisable location of production, ware-house and auxiliary compartments.

The task on designing shall contain:

- reason for designing (the proper order or enactment);

- main technical economical figures;

- assignment and functions of enterprises, its construction site;

- preset dates, order, stage, cost of construction, water and power supply sources etc.

Designing is held into one or two stages. The typical or repeatedly applied projects, and also projects of reconstruction, extension and technical re-equipment of special vehicles service are designed in one stage.

In other cases special vehicles service is designed in two stages.

In case of designing in one stage a working draft is developed with the taken estimate computation of cost. The project consists of general description paper and drawings.

The description paper shall contain:

- general data (initial data for designing, description and assignment of the maintenance depot of special vehicle service, necessity in the labour staff and power supply, technical economical figures etc.);

- the main solutions according to the technology and arrangement of work (description of general arrangement of special vehicles service work, foreseen there production processes and decision about production, results of calculations on estimation of the production program and volume of production, labour force, equipment, areas of production ware-house solutions, actions on the environmental protection etc.);

- the main construction solutions, cost estimate document and certificate of working draft.

The drawings of working draft shall include:

- location layout of the maintenance depot at the air-port region;

- general layout;

- principle diagram of technological process;

- production designing with a location of basic equipment specified;

- diagrams of electrical power, heat-supply and other communications, construction buildings (layouts, cross sections, facades), routes of engineering communications (layouts, diagrams).

Designing is held in two stages:

- development of a project with the free estimate computation of cost;

- preparation of working documents with cost estimates (after approval).

The project consists of:

- explanatory note (general data and drawings, similar to the working draft);

- the main thing solutions about the production technology, construction solutions, decision on construction procedure (also take into account house-communal conditions);

- cost estimate document and project certificate.

The working documents (drawing) consists of assembling drawings in type of plans of production and ware-house compartments and drawings of some elements, adaptations and devices, necessary for equipment mounting.

The project solutions about technology and arrangement of maintenance and repair developed in the process of the production designing are in the basis of the maintenance depot project.

An eventual result of the production designing is the development of general layout and volumetric-planning decisions of maintenance depot, that provide of the preset program and volume of workload of maintenance and repair, and also special vehicles storage at the proper level of technical economical figures of project decision.

 

Stages of the production designing are shown on the fig. 1.1.

Selection of initial data:
type, quantity, average daily run and technical state of special vehicles; category of operational conditions; climatic conditions; working schedule of special vehicles; maintenance and repair schedule of special vehicles.

The type of special vehicles depends on the aircraft types handled at the airport, climatic conditions, relief of the land etc.

Quantity of special vehicles is assigned or calculated, originating from volumes of air shipments, the aircraft type,airport working schedule etc.

Average daily run of special vehicles is assigned or calculated.

All this initial data are considered in the courses "Operation of aircraft ground support equipment" and "Economy of civil aviation".

A technical state of special vehicles is described by the run (operating time) of special vehicles to the complete overhaul and by correlation of special vehicles, that did not pass complete overhaul, and special vehicles, that passed complete overhaul.

In case of designing of new maintenance depot (whether when this data are unknown) 50% of special vehicles before complete overhaul and 50% after complete overhaul are assumed.

A category of operation conditions is accepted according to Provisions on the vehicles maintenance and repair and by manual on arrangement of the technical subdivisions of special vehicles service in dependence on type of the air field pavement and location of air-port above the sea level (land relief).

Climatic conditions are assigned on the basis of data about terrains region according to the climatic regions.

The working schedule of special vehicles is specified:

- by the working schedule of air-ports and number of working days per year of the special vehicle in line (365, 357, 305 or 253);

- by number of working shifts of special vehicle in line (1; 1,5; 2; can be even 3 shifts);

- by the shift duration (7 hours for the six-day workweek and 6,2 hours for a five-day).
