People work to earn money. I don’t want to say, that they do it only for money. But we need them in our everyday life. We need to pay gas, telephone and electricity bills. We need to buy some food and clothes. We need to pay out for our children’s needs and for our needs as well. So routine life is impossible without money. We can earn money if we work somewhere. There are a lot of jobs in the world. You can be a pilot, a baker, a lawyer, a teacher, a doctor etc. If we want to find a regular job we must have special education. We can finish an educational establishment. In Ukraine you can enter vocational school without any exams. You can study there from 1 to 3 years. And after that you can find a job. You can be a driver, a cooker, a baker etc. so you can see that those jobs are not very prestige and not well paid. But if you want to become a teacher, a lawyer, a doctor, an economist etc. you have to get higher education. Most of higher educational establishments are situated in big cities. So you have to move there and study there for 5 or 6 years. If you want to enter such establishment you have to prepare for testing and exams.
Nowadays there are people witch buy higher education diplomas. And then they buy a good job. But they can’t work there for a long time. Every job needs specialists, those people who know their job perfectly and have a lot of practice. To become a professional you must study well. That’s why those people that buy education and jobs can’t do their job well.
So now I am going to enter Kyiv Shevchenko’s University. And I want to become a lawyer. I dreamed about this profession in my early childhood. But it was just a dream. When I was in the 8 form I had a lot of extra classes. Among them Mathematics and Informatics. So I decided that I don’t need all those subjects. And I started to learn history and law more seriously. I started to learn English in the kindergarten. But it looked like a game. I began to learn it more seriously in the 3rd form. Since that time I had many teachers of English. And I think that knowledge they have given me is really useful. When I was abroad I communicated in English a lot. And I think I’ll need English in my future profession.
So I decided to become a lawyer myself. Those people do a great job. They protect the laws, protect our country and other people. They are very respected people. I think this University is one of the best where you can get knowledge and practice. And I hope I’ll become a real professional when I graduate from this University.
News
Why people listen to news? And why they search for news?
So, We all are different. We have different hobbies and interests. Some people like sports and they know almost everything about their favorite teams and sportsmen. They try to find this information everywhere possible: in Internet, in newspapers, magazines and so on. So, it is interesting for them to listen to sport news. Some people like movies and they are funs of an actor, for example. So, any information, even private information is interesting for them. They want to know where and how their idols are.
There are different kinds of news you can find in newspapers or listen to or watch on TV. There are even some News Channels on TV where the whole day long only news is broadcasted. Some of the latest news I want to tell you about are:
'Alarming rise' in Ukraine racism
Amnesty says the government does not take racists attacks seriously.
There has been an "alarming rise" in the number of racially motivated attacks in Ukraine, according to a new Amnesty International study. The group says more than 60 people were targeted in racial attacks last year. Four people have died this year alone.
The government, it says, fails to recognise the gravity of the problem, frequently registering the attacks only as acts of "hooliganism". No comment from Ukrainian officials was immediately available.
Amnesty UK campaign director Tim Hancock said in a statement that: "Foreigners and ethnic minorities now live in a climate of fear.
"Ukraine's police, prosecutors and politicians need to urgently confront the scourge of racism, not sidestep it by calling hate crimes acts of 'hooliganism'."
Hooliganism, the groups says, is easier to prove in court and carries a lighter sentence.
Amnesty says that while the government recognises individual incidents, it does not accept that racism is growing in the country.
Ultra-right groups in the country, such as the Ukrainian National Labour Party, are often blamed for the rising levels of violence.
Its leader Evhen Herasymenko told the Associated Press that attacking foreign migrants was "like the immune system - the reaction of a healthy body to the infection that got into it".
According to the International Organization for Migration, there are some 500 skinheads in Kiev alone, while there are a further 1,000 members of hate groups throughout Ukraine.
