Peculiarities of class III and IV cavity preparation in deciduous and permanent teeth

Topicality: class III, IV carious lesions are commonly seen in deciduous and permanent teeth in children. Caries easily affects front teeth, which are the first to erupt. Quick caries in children leads to quick cavity formation, which need an operative treatment. Treatment requires preparation depending on the localization and depth of the lesion, child’s age, tooth development stage, type of filling material chosen.

Objective: to master the preparation of class III, IV cavities in deciduous and permanent teeth in children.

Tasks:

1. To be able to prepare class III, IV carious leasions in deciduous teeth
2. To be able to prepare class III, IV carious leasions in permanent teeth
3. To know the special peculiarities of preparation of class III, IV carious cavities in children for filling with different filling materials.
4. To know the method of “biological necessiti” for preparation of class III, IV carious cavities in deciduous and permanent teeth.
