4. What ideas from Belarusian school can you advise a teacher from Great Britain to use in British school?

5. Today some young people think that having a good education is very important. Do you agree with them?

1.

Belarus has a developed system of education. The republic guarantees its citizens the right to universal secondary education and creates means for further professional education. The main principles of the educational system in Belarus are the priority of human values, national culture, scientific basis, democracy, support of gifted children.

Children start their education in a primary school at the age of 6. They study there during four years. Then they continue studying in a secondary school till the 10th form. They finish their secondary education at the age of 17 when they leave a high school.

Students can choose to enter the universities and institutes or get education in vocational schools and colleges which suit all tastes, income and inclinations. There is also postgraduate education giving the students opportunity to do research and get an MA, Mss and PhD.

I agree that Belarusian secondary school provides a person with good knowledge. Children study many different subjects: Mathematics, History, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, English, Russian and Belarusian languages etc. To do well at school pupils should do their homework regularly, be active and attentive at the lessons, learn the rules and study hard. There is a good proverb “Live and learn”. A lot of well-qualified teachers work at secondary schools. Schools also offer different facilities which are excellent for doing research work, practicing sport and entertaining.

Lots of after classes activities, sport competitions, different conferences are held at secondary schools.

3.

Do you study at a secondary school?

What subjects do you study?

How many days do you go to school per week?

What facilities are offered for pupils at school?

Do well-qualified and experienced teachers work in your school?

What optional courses do you attend?

4.

If I were a teacher I would advise my colleague in GB many ideas. First I recommend to add more compulsory subjects for learning and studying in their curriculum. Then I advise to hold more after classes activities: different concerts, contests, performances, sport competitions where many children take part in. It makes them united, responsible and close to each other, they learn to work in a team.

5.

It’s great that many young people think so. I strongly believe that without a good education you can’t get a good job and live happy life. It’s necessary to develop and improve our knowledge to be called “homo sapience”, to be a personality. When you are well-educated, experienced, and professional in your job many people around want to communicate and deal with you.
