FORM FUNCTION EXAMPLE

I wish + S + would V Note: we never say: I wish I would We express a wish for a change in the future.     3. I wish she would stop smoking. Бажано, щоб вона кинула палити.
I wish + S + had V3 We express a regret or a wish that something happened or didn't happen in the past 4. I wish he hadn't failed his exam. Шкода, що він не здав тест.

EXERCISE 12. EXPRESS A WISH ABOUT A PRERSENT SITUATION WHICH YOU WANT TO BE DIFFERENT.

EXAMPLE: She often lies. I wish she didn't lie.

EXERCISE 13. WRITE FIVE SENTENCES EXPRESSING A REGRET IN THE PRESENT CONCERNING LACK OF ABILITY.

EXAMPLE: I wish I could speak three foreign languages!

EXERCISE 14. EXPRESS YOUR WISH CONCERNING FUTURE.
